High yielding forage or hay. Switchgrass is a fast growing native grass. We are just cleaning the seed, and you will need too book it early. This is Alamo variety and has been in short supply for the last couple of years. One university has contracted most of the seed in this country to use in an ethanol plant. Alamo switchgrass yields are approaching 8 tons per acre,per year with very minimal rainfall. This grass is also excellent for grazing, hay or erosion control projects, due to its fast growing characteristic.
